While a number of things feel like such a blur in those first eight-ish weeks after having my daughter, I firmly remember nights when we were teetering on ordering takeout or when the sundown scaries started to roll in and I’d have this nourishing, warm bowl of soup that gave me comfort; it warmed me from the inside out.
While I was pregnant, I was told all sorts of ways one should prepare for motherhood, and to read as many books on the how-to’s of being a mom. While I didn’t dive too hard into the parenthood self help reads (I read 2, maybe 3) I did delve into books that talked about the importance of nurturing your body before, during, and after pregnancy. I firmly believe that foods can aid in the betterment or detriment to one’s health. Life a lot of things in life, it’s about balance.
During those 10 months of creating life, I was intentional about the foods I consumed as I knew it had a direct effect on my growing babe.
